England's Lauren James nets two goals as team handles pressure to defeat the Netherlands convincingly

Lauren James scored twice as England clinched a convincing 4-0 win against the Netherlands in Zurich to keep their hopes of retaining the European Championship title alive.

Following a defeat to France in their first match of the tournament, the Lionesses needed a victory to avoid an early exit in the group stage. With Prince William watching from the stands at the Stadion Letzigrund, James gave England the lead with a fantastic goal in the 22nd minute.

Alessia Russo provided the assist and then set up Georgia Stanway to double England's lead just before halftime. James extended the lead to three goals in the 60th minute.

Ella Toone, the only new face in Sarina Wiegman's starting lineup, scored the fourth goal seven minutes later, securing England's strong position to advance to the quarter-finals. They will wrap up the group stage against Wales, who are new to the tournament.
