PSG advance to final to face Chelsea after dominating Real Madrid

Paris St Germain, the champions of Europe, delivered an impressive performance to advance into the Club World Cup final, beating Real Madrid 4-0.

In a one-sided semi-final in New York on Wednesday, PSG took control of the game early on with Fabian Ruiz scoring twice and Ousmane Dembele adding another goal within the first 24 minutes.

Real Madrid, one of the top teams in Spain, couldn't keep up with the dominant display from the Champions League winners. PSG sealed the victory with a fourth goal from Goncalo Ramos at the MetLife Stadium towards the end of the match.

PSG, who are set to face Chelsea in the final on Sunday, were on fire just like the weather, with temperatures reaching 32C during the game.

Manager Luis Enrique fielded a team with 10 players who had started in the Champions League final against Inter Milan, with Dembele making his tournament debut in this game.

PSG showed the same determination that led to their famous win in the previous final as they went after Europe's most established team, who were missing Trent Alexander-Arnold due to injury.

Real Madrid attempted to start the game quickly, with an early chance from Aurelien Tchouameni created by Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe. However, PSG quickly asserted control.

The opening goal came after a mistake by Raul Asencio allowed Dembele to set up Ruiz for the first strike. Despite a possible foul on Dembele, the ball found its way to Ruiz for a smooth finish.

Dembele extended the lead just three minutes later, capitalizing on a defensive error by Antonio Rudiger to score a second goal past Courtois.

Real Madrid struggled to respond, and PSG increased their lead to 3-0 with Ruiz scoring his second of the night after being set up by Achraf Hakimi.

PSG had more chances to score before halftime, with Kvaratskhelia missing an opportunity and Courtois denying another attempt from Dembele.

An effort from Desire Doue was ruled offside at the start of the second half.

Real Madrid started to push more in the second half, but PSG controlled the game and maintained a solid defense. Mbappe, facing his former team, couldn't find the target with one of his shots.

With three minutes remaining, substitute Ramos sealed the victory for PSG, converting a quick counter-attack from a Bradley Barcola pass.
